Dr. Cooper’s Contact Information and Office Hours
(posted January 6, 2020)
Outside of laboratory, I am most easily reached via email. Please note that I typically receive over 100 emails each weekday during the semester. Hence, to help me more readily recognize a message from you, please use the term “BIOL 3702” in the Subject line. If you do not do so, your email risks being “lost” among the multitude of daily messages I receive.
I will answer your email as soon as practical. Please note, I am not inclined to respond to emails during evenings, on weekends, holidays, or when the University is closed.
PLEASE NOTE: Dr. Cooper’s email communications are deemed privileged communications. They MAY NOT be redistributed in any form (e.g., forwarded, posted on social media, published, etc.) without his explicit written permission.
Telephone/Voice Mail: 330.941.1361
If I am not available via telephone, please leave a clear and distinct message on my voice mail. I will return your call as soon as practical.
Office Hours: By Appointment Only
Due to my multiple other responsibilities at YSU as well as various days that I shall be away on University business, I am not able to schedule consistent dates and times for regular office hours. Therefore, I shall meet students by appointment only. I request that students email me their availability in order to schedule a time with me. I will reply as soon as practical. Also, please feel free to approach me following my lecture or after my laboratory session to discuss an issue or to make an appointment outside my normal office hours for a face-to-face meeting. However, I am sorry to tell you that I am rarely available for a “drop in” office visit.
Office Location: Ward Beecher Science Hall, Room 3123
My office is located in the laboratory complex beyond the secured glass doors on the third floor near the elevator. Students must not enter the secured area without permission.
When a student arrives for a scheduled appointment, the phone on the wall next to the door should be used to call me at extension 1361 (just press the buttons 1, 3, 6, and 1 in order). Someone will come to the door as an escort. No one is permitted to enter this laboratory complex unless escorted to my office.
